SALLY
has had a busy Summer and
been gadding about all over the place!
Firstly in SPAIN, spending a few days in
SEVILLE
at the
CORRAL DEL REY
and
then out into the spectacular sunflower
fields to stay at the
HACIENDA SAN
RAFAEL
. She has also been to
THAILAND
spending time at the magical
SONEVA
KIRI
– where ‘no news, no shoes’ is the
order of the day - before being hurled back
into reality amidst the madness of
BANGKOK
! Thankfully, the oasis that is the
METROPOLITAN HOTEL
made this an
easy transition Then shewas off to
ITALY
,
to spend a few nights in
RAVELLO
at the
fabulous
PALAZZO AVINO
and the
wonderful
MONASTERO SANTA ROSA
in
AMALFI
. She will be more than happy
to tell you all about these places if you
would like to give her a call…
DIANA
travelledto
CROATIA
staying
on the little known island of
LOSINJ
, which is
known locally as the Island of Vitality because
of its therapeutic properties . The 5* newly
opened
BELLEVUE HOTEL
is perfectly
locatedonabeautifulstretchofcoastlinewith
crystal clear water and surrounded by
centuries old pine forest. It is certainly worth
the slightly longer journey to get there
travelling onwards from Zagreb in a light
aircraft which was a highlight of the trip!
A trip to
MOUGINS
in the
SOUTH OF
FRANCE
took place at the end of April to visit
the beautiful
MAS CANDILLE
with its
wonderful Shiseido Spa and Michelin-starred
'Candille' restaurant serving delicious
Provençale dishes. Mougins is a stunning
medieval village set in the hills above Cannes.
It was the home of Pablo Picasso and art still
has a strong influence on this village.
finally visited the peninsular of
HALKIDIKI
which is
situated in the North East corner of Greece, providing some of
the most untouched, yet startlingly beautiful scenery and
offering an authentic slice of traditional Greek life with endless
sandy beaches, picturesque villages andmany places of historic
interest.
EAGLES PALACE
is a truly delightful first class hotel,
with a friendly atmosphere and good facilities. The hotel is
located close to the sacred Monasteries of Mount Athos and
the little village of Ouranoupolis.
PUGLIA
is located in the heel of the great boot of Italy and still
remains undiscovered by mass tourismwhere culture food and
wine remain authentic. Over the past few years the quality of
holiday accommodation on offer has increased to offer
something for everyone. Gail visited a superb selection of
hotels during her trip from the fantastic
BORGOEGNAZIA
with
its stylish accommodation, perfect for both couples and
families, to the traditional Masseria style hotels such as the
welcoming and relaxed
TORRECOCCARO
,
MASSERIAMAIZZA
and the well known
MASSERIASANDOMENICO
. She was also
lucky enough to see the “new kid on the block”,
CANNE
BIANCHE
. This stylish contemporary boutique hotel is a delight.

KAREN
has recently returned fromvisiting two of the
D-HOTELS
(featured in this
edition) so if you have any questions, do please get in touch. She absolutely loved these
properties, offering great value for money compared to other hotels in this region.
Earlier this year she travelled on a twin-centre cultural trip to
TURKEY
visiting Cappadocia,
Turkey's most visually striking region, with its breath-taking moonscape scenery and
Istanbul, where East meets West.
She also spent a week on
JAMAICA
, including the fabulous
GOLDENEYE
(featured on
p.22) and
JAMAICA INN
, a firm favourite. Jamaica offers many activities - golf, zip-wiring,
rafting on the Rio Grande, swimming with dolphins to name but a few. This is a great
destination with direct Virgin flights.
